Russian President Vladimir Putin has named an increase in production of at least 25% by 2030 and an increase in exports of at least one and a half times as one of the main tasks of the Russian agro-industrial complex (AIC). He said this on October 13 in a video message on the occasion of the Day of the Worker of Agriculture and Processing Industry, which was published on the Kremlin’s website.
“One of the most important tasks of the Russian agro-industrial complex is to increase production by at least 25 percent by 2030 and increase exports by at least one and a half times. I emphasize that this is our strategic goal, which will be achieved primarily by strengthening the technological capabilities of the industry,” said the Russian President.
In his speech, Vladimir Putin emphasized that in order to achieve the set goals, it is necessary to introduce more domestic equipment and agricultural machinery, develop land reclamation, breeding and genetics, as well as promising nature-based technologies to preserve and restore farmland, arable land and ecosystems in order to preserve them for future generations. Particular attention must be paid to the training of scientific and educational staff and young professionals.
It had previously been announced that the Russian Ministry of Agriculture expects to physically increase exports of agricultural products by 2024; exports are currently already 7% higher than the previous year’s figures. Last year, a total of 100 million tons of food were exported. Deliveries of oils and fats, meat and dairy products to the world market have increased particularly sharply, and a record is expected for wheat exports this season.
As Oksana Lut has previously reported, exports in general are expected to rise to 55.2 billion dollars by 2030, up from 43.5 billion dollars in 2023, and exports of oil and fat products could grow to 10 billion dollars by 2030.
