Corn prices will rise from January through March

January, February, March is the period when the only store for corn for all consumers on the international market is Ukrainian and American grain.

Alexander Solovey, commercial director of Spike Brokers, told about it in his column in The Ukrainian Farmer magazine.

“Given the geopolitical context and possible trade wars, traded actively shipped corn in Biden’s cadence to those countries that may suffer from tariff fluctuations and wars from the United States after January 20. This is primarily about China and Mexico, which is one of the largest markets for U.S. corn,” – said the specialist.

According to Oleksandr Solovy, Europe has not so much purchased American corn, so there is actually no alternative to Ukrainian grain on the EU market.

“Accordingly, we can look with full confidence and optimism at the positive pricing process for corn from January to March. Given that we already see a conditional premium for later months at the level of $5, we can safely talk about the growth of corn prices from $10 to $15 per ton,” – he specified.
