Egyptian state agency Mostakbal Misr has purchased a large batch of Russian wheat from OZK with shipment this month. This is reported by Reuters.
The exact volume of the purchase and prices were not disclosed. Wheat will be delivered on four vessels under the flag of Egypt.
Last week, Mostakbal Misr, which was given authority from GASC at the end of 2024, signed agreements with European suppliers for wheat shipments, including barter agreements to diversify food imports. However, the agency does not provide information on volumes, prices and origin of grain. So far it is known that 28 thousand tons of Russian wheat arrived in Egypt for Mostakbal Misr at the end of December, and another 33 thousand tons of grain from Russia were booked by private agreement in early January.
There is no information about deliveries from other countries to Egypt after the change of state buyer.
