The most common oilseeds in Europe are sunflower, corn, soybeans, flax, rapeseeds, olive, safflower, mustard seeds, almond, camelina, hazelnuts, pumpkin seeds.
Sunflower seeds contain up to 57% oil, soybeans – 15–26% oil, lein – 30-50% oil, sesame – 48-62% oil. These oils are used not only for food, but also for the preparation of canned food and confectionery, margarine. These oils are rich in vitamins and easy to digest. In addition, vegetable oil is used in the paint and varnish industry, soap making, textile, leather, perfumery and medicine. Castor oil does not freeze at low temperatures and is used in technology as a lubricating oil. Hemp and linseed oil is used to make drying oil, varnish and paints.
