Ukraine soybean acreage 2026 will continue expanding. Specifically, the trend toward increasing soybean acreage will continue in the medium term. Furthermore, this will happen despite uncertainty and certain fluctuations. This year, the minimum projected area under this crop is 2 million hectares.
Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture Taras Vysotsky announced this at the Soybean Market: Growing. Processing. Trade conference.
He recalled that a record soybean harvest of over 7 million tons was harvested in Ukraine in 2024. Meanwhile, last year’s harvest was 5 million tons.
Ukraine Soybean Acreage 2026: Forecasts and Challenges
“This year, it is difficult to forecast given the many unexpected geopolitical and micro-factors affecting agricultural production. The preliminary estimate is that soybeans will occupy at least 2 million hectares. We cannot rule out that, given the situation with fuel, fertilizers, and other challenges, even more soybeans may be sown. “But the minimum area under this crop will definitely be maintained, and the harvest at 5 million tons should not decline,” Taras Vysotsky noted.
He added that demand for Ukrainian soybeans and processed products is growing on global markets. Furthermore, approximately 60% of soybeans will be processed in Ukraine this season.
“There will always be demand for this product, and therefore, export opportunities are stable,” Taras Vysotsky emphasized.
