Turkey’s Grain Agency (TMO) is set to resume international tenders after a hiatus of two years, seeking to acquire 18,000 tons of unrefined sunflower oil on a CFR basis, as reported by Grain On-Line, referencing European traders.
Shipments are scheduled to occur between April 2 and April 21, with deliveries distributed across the ports of Iskenderun/Mersin (comprising four batches of 3,000 tons each) and Tekirdag (which will receive two batches of 3,000 tons).
The Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) of the USDA recently indicated that Turkey’s sunflower harvest is projected to be at its lowest level in a decade. They have also revised the oilseed production estimate downward by 300,000 tons, now predicting a total of 1.25 million tons.
As for pricing, OleoScope reports that the FOB price for sunflower oil with a March delivery date stood at $1,095.00 per ton on March 17, 2025.
