US soybean crushing 2025/26 could exceed 71 million tonnes. Specifically, Oil World reports volumes could reach this new high. Furthermore, this is significantly higher than the 66.5 million tonnes in the 2024/25 season.
February Crushing Data and Daily Rates
In February, soybean crushing volumes totaled 208.8 million bushels. Moreover, this is 6% lower than in January. However, it sets a record for that month, per NOPA. The decline reflects fewer days in February. Meanwhile, the daily crush rate reached a new high of 7.45 million bushels per day. Furthermore, this compares to 7.15 million bushels per day in January. Additionally, it exceeds the 6.35 million bushels per day in February 2025.
US Soybean Crushing 2025/26: Season Progress
Total US soybean crushing 2025/26 volume has reached a record 36.3 million tons since the start. Furthermore, this compares to 33.5 million tons in September-February 2024/25. Additionally, it exceeds the 31.2 million tons average over the past five years. Domestic soybean oil production has increased amid record crushing volumes this season. However, weak demand from the biofuel industry is leading to an increase in soybean oil inventories. Specifically, stocks reached 1.2 million tonnes as of the end of February. Moreover, this is +39% year-on-year. Consequently, this is the highest level since early May 2018.
Export Decline and Inventory Impact
Record crushing volumes contrast with a sharp decline in US soybean exports in the first half. Specifically, exports fell in the first half of the 2025/26 season by 11.4 million tonnes year-on-year. Furthermore, this is maintaining high oilseed inventories. Additionally, inventories at the end of February exceeded the previous year’s level by 5-6 million tonnes.
