Ukraine has harvested 30 million tons of grain

According to operational data from the Ministry of Agricultural Policy, cereals and pulses were harvested in Ukraine by September 12 on a total area of 7.222 million hectares, which corresponds to 65% of the planned area. The gross grain harvest is estimated at 30.085 million tons, with an average yield of 41.7 quintals per hectare.

It should be noted that by September 14 last year, 29.456 million tons of cereals and pulses had been harvested on 6.763 million hectares (62% of the forecast). The average yield was 43.6 quintals per hectare.

The harvest of late cereal crops in particular is currently continuing:

  • Corn – 1.103 million tons on 255.3 thousand hectares (6%) with a yield of 43.2 quintals per hectare;
  • Buckwheat – 88.2 thousand tons from 56.2 thousand hectares (63%) with a yield of 15.7 quintals per hectare;
  • Millet – 110.43 thousand tons on 56.8 thousand hectares (61%) with a yield of 19.5 quintals per hectare.

The harvest figures for oilseeds are as follows:

  • Sunflowers – 2.975 million tons on 1.5 million hectares (30% of the plan) with a yield of 19.8 quintals per hectare;
  • Rapeseed – 3.415 million tons from 1.266 million hectares (100%) with a yield of 27 quintals per hectare;
  • Soya – 1.845 million tons on 909.5 thousand hectares (34%) with a yield of 20.3 quintals per hectare.

The sugar beet harvest is also continuing in Ukraine, where 16.2 thousand hectares had yielded 741.5 thousand tons with a yield of 458.5 hundredweights per hectare by 12 September.
