Russia Grain Exports South Korea Hit Record Levels

Russia grain exports South Korea surged in February. Specifically, wheat and corn shipments rose to their highest since February last year, RIA Novosti reports, citing data from the Korean statistical service.

Corn Shipments and Market Position

South Korea’s imports of Russian corn in February totaled 51,400 tonnes ($13.1 million). Furthermore, this marks the highest since February 2025. Meanwhile, month-on-month, shipment volumes soared 2.5-fold. However, year-on-year, they decreased by a third.

This places Russia third among South Korea’s main corn suppliers. Moreover, Russia moved up one spot in a month. The top five also included:

  • United States (707,100 tonnes)
  • Brazil (59,100 tonnes)
  • Ukraine (49,900 tonnes)
  • Argentina (7,200 tonnes)

South Korea’s wheat imports from Russia also reached their highest since February. Specifically, volumes hit 48,700 tonnes ($12.3 million). Furthermore, this is 15% more than in January. However, it is 7% less than a year ago.

Here, Russia also ranked third among suppliers. Meanwhile, the top five were:

  • United States (135,600 tonnes)
  • Australia (74,600 tonnes)
  • Canada (44,600 tonnes)
  • Türkiye (969,400 tonnes)
