Quotas on imports of sunflower and sunflower oil entered into force in Turkey

Turkey has allocated tariff quotas for imports of sunflower seeds and sunflower oil for the period from January 1 to April 30, 2025. The quotas allow importing 1 million tons of sunflower seeds or the equivalent of 400,000 tons of sunflower oil.

Bülent Özsoy, broker at Atria Brokers and advisor to ASAP Agri, said.

“Imports of sunflower seeds within the quota will be taxed at 0%, while imports of sunflower oil will be taxed at 20%,” Ozsoy explained.

This policy aims to balance domestic supplies while supporting local producers during this period.
