Prices for Ukrainian corn of new harvest continue to grow

Source: Ukragroconsult (Ukraine)

A decline in trading activity due to an oversupply in the market from major exporters caused a fall in corn prices across Europe. On average, the reduction ranged from 3 to 5€. Furthermore, this situation exerted additional pressure that contributed to the weakening of quotes on the Matif exchange, as reported by Spike Brokers.

In Ukraine’s domestic market, corn prices for the 2024 harvest saw little fluctuation throughout the week. In Odessa’s ports, grain prices were recorded between 223 and 225 $/t DAP, while on the western border they ranged from 208 to 212 €/t FCA. Meanwhile, there is still strong demand for new crop corn, which has driven prices up to $202-203/t DAP at the port for the period of October to December.

Recent buyer offers include:

  • DAP Ukraine (Odessa): approximately $223-225/t
  • FCA Ukraine (border): around 208-212€/t
  • DAP Italy (northeast): roughly 245-248 €/t
  • DAP Germany (northeast): about 224-227 €/t
  • DAP Netherlands (south): near 228-230 €/t

For the 2025 harvest, the following prices are noted:

  • DAP Ukraine (Odessa): approximately 202-203€/t
  • DAP Germany (northeast): around 221-223 €/t
  • FCA Ukraine (border): about 185-190 €/t.
