Kazakhstan has brought in a record harvest of 26.5 million tons of grain in the current 2024/25 marketing year. The republic’s government announced plans to export 12 million tons of grain and at least one million tons of oilseeds, reports TASS.
The Ministry of Trade and the Ministry of Agriculture have been entrusted with the implementation of the products produced. It is necessary to establish grain supplies both to traditional markets – Central Asian countries and Afghanistan – and to new markets such as Pakistan, Indonesia, Brazil and Malaysia, where an increase in imports is expected,” said Kairat Torebayev, Deputy Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan.
He also emphasized that Kazakhstan is interested in the markets of the European Union, such as Italy, Latvia, Spain and others, given the growing global demand and declining harvests in a number of countries. According to him, work will also be intensified to promote the brand of Kazakh products in new markets such as Pakistan, Indonesia, Brazil and Malaysia, where imports are forecast to increase.
“Together with the Food Corporation, country proposals (offers) have been prepared with details of logistical routes and export prices. Negotiations have been held and preliminary agreements reached for the Armenian and Italian markets. Negotiations are also being held on exports to North Africa,” the deputy minister added.
Earlier it became known that Kazakhstan has increased supplies to the agro-industrial complex in France by almost six times by increasing rapeseed exports. Prodkorporatsiya Kazakhstan signed an agreement on the supply of flax to China worth 3 million dollars the day before.
