In 2024, the total volume of grain transportation on the railway network of KTZh amounted to 10.6 million tons. Domestic transportation increased by 13% and exceeded 2.5 million tons, and exports amounted to 8.1 million tons, reported in the press service of KTZh.
As noted, last year grain transportation to Central Asian countries increased: to Tajikistan – by 20%, to Kyrgyzstan – by 92%, to Azerbaijan – by 86%. Grain loading to Iran increased 2 times.
It is also specified that last year 3.2 million tons of milling products were transported on the KTZh network, which is 2% more compared to 2023.
Exports of these products increased by 3% and reached 2.3 million tons. Exports of milling products to Central Asian countries, including Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan, are on the rise, with significant growth of 4%, 5% and 41%, respectively. China increased imports of Kazakhstani milling products by 34%.
