Kazakhstan has increased wheat exports to the country, which is not a traditional market for its grain – Latvia (EU). This is reported by APK-Inform with reference to official statistics.
Thus, for 3 months of 2024/25 MY in this direction was shipped about 20 thousand tons of Kazakh wheat (in September-November 2023 – only 9.3 thousand tons). At that, volumes of shipments in October and November of this year (8 thousand tons each, respectively) became the highest monthly indicators since March 2023.
According to the results of 3 months of the current season Latvia took 7th place in the ranking of importers of wheat from Kazakhstan (last season for the same period – 8th place).
But another European country – Italy, which is among the top 5 importers of Kazakh grain, has significantly reduced the volume of purchases. In September-November 2024, only 34.5 thousand tons of wheat were exported in this direction (against 119.3 thousand tons for the same period last season).
