During a working trip to the North Kazakhstan region, the Minister of Agriculture held a meeting on the development of the agro-industrial complex. The results of the current harvest campaign were discussed and plans for the next agricultural year were presented, reports the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Minister of Agriculture pointed out that Kazakhstan has currently completed the harvest of 93.2% of grain crops or 15.5 million hectares. 23.5 million tons of grain have been threshed with an average yield of 15.2 centners per hectare.

“Considering the fact that farmers have received unprecedented support from the state, the results were to be expected. Now we are faced with the main task of completing the harvesting work and securing the crop, especially in the regions where work is behind schedule. It is necessary to mobilize all resources. We must bring this agricultural season to a successful conclusion and not let up next year,” he said.

In the North Kazakhstan region, 4.3 million hectares were sown, 3 million hectares (90.5%) were harvested and 5.6 million tons were threshed with a yield of 17.8 centners per hectare. Almost 3 million tons of fodder were harvested.

By October 14, 98% of the area had been harvested and 25.2 million tons of grain had been threshed, said Agriculture Minister Aidarbek Saparov at a meeting with the President.

The average yield was 15.5 centners per hectare. Farmers are planning a record harvest of 1.2 million tons of sugar beet and a good harvest of fodder crops.

On the President’s instructions, work is underway to improve the financing of sowing and harvesting. This year, for the first time, 580 billion tenge have been allocated for these purposes, 5% of which will be paid directly to farmers without subsidies, which is three times as much as last year. According to Aidarbek Saparov, this amount is to be increased to 900 billion tenge by 2025, of which 200 billion tenge is to be made available for the low-cost leasing of agricultural machinery.
