As reported by market participants, Iran’s state food procurement agency, SLAL, issued a tender on February 26 for the import of 120,000 tons of feed barley, the same quantity of corn, and 60,000 tons of soybean meal.

The tender specifies that the barley can be sourced from the EU, the Black Sea area (notably Turkey, Ukraine, and Russia), as well as Kazakhstan. The corn can be imported from Brazil, the EU, Russia, Ukraine, and other nations surrounding the Black Sea, while soybean meal can be sourced from either Brazil or Argentina.

Deliveries of barley and corn are expected in March and April, with the soybean meal scheduled for May and June of this year.
