In the first half of this year, Russia increased exports of vegetable oil to China by 36.6% compared to the same period last year, reports Rosselkhoznadzor, citing FCS data.
In particular, deliveries of sunflower oil increased 6.2-fold and those of soybean oil 2.1-fold. At the same time, exports of rapeseed oil fell by 37.4%.
According to Oleoscope, 429,000 tons of sunflower oil were supplied to China in the first 7 months of this year, an increase of 565,000 tons compared to the same period in 2023, rapeseed oil was supplied in the amount of 536,000 tons (892,000 tons), soybean oil – 64,000 tons (53,000 tons).
According to the service, the main exporters at the end of the first half of the year were Kursk region (179.2 thousand tons), Belgorod (98.4 thousand tons), Kaliningrad (37.5 thousand tons), Omsk (19 thousand tons) and St. Petersburg (30.2 thousand tons).
Rosselkhoznadzor points out that all products intended for export are tested in the laboratories of the Federal State Budget Service “Center for Grain Quality Assessment” in accordance with the requirements of the importing country. In addition to the standard quality and safety indicators, the People’s Republic of China prescribes 295 indicators for pesticide residues in vegetable oils, including 312 individual active substances and phthalates, which are persistent organic pollutants.
