Global Soybean Exports 2026 Surge 18 Percent

Global soybean exports 2026 have exceeded expectations in early months. Specifically, in January-February 2026, exports amounted to 22.6 million tonnes. Furthermore, this is 18% higher than the same period last year, according to Oil World (Germany).

Global Soybean Exports 2026: Exporter Performance and Volume Growth

In particular, since the beginning of the year, the United States has exported 10 million tonnes of the oilseed. Moreover, this represents +1.7 million tonnes compared to January-February 2025. Additionally, Brazil reached 9 million tonnes (+1.5 million tonnes). Furthermore, Paraguay achieved 1.8 million tonnes (+0.3 million tonnes).

China Import Demand and Market Share

China remained the key global soybean importer. Specifically, the country increased purchases by 32% to 12.3 million tonnes. Furthermore, this compares to 9.31 million tonnes in January-February last year. Additionally, the country’s robust demand is driven by the growth of domestic oilseed processing. Moreover, China purchased 61.4% of global soybean exports. Meanwhile, this compares to 59.4% the year before.

Over the past 12 months, exports to China reached a new high of 113 million tonnes. Furthermore, this compares to 102.6 million tonnes in March-February 2024/25.

It was previously reported that soybean shipments from Brazil to China slowed during the peak export season.
