This week on Kazakhstan market of oilseed flax again continued to grow prices, as well as a few weeks earlier. The main factors are the limited number of offers and the desire of buyers to attract the remaining volumes of raw materials, which contributes to increased competition for available batches of flax and puts additional pressure on prices.
As of February 20, demand prices for flax voiced in the range of 230-240 thousand tenge/ton* ($458 – $478/ton), which is an average of $20/t higher than last week’s prices.
Earlier it became known that the area of oilseeds in the Republic this year will grow by 365 thousand hectares to 3.3 million hectares, flax will occupy more than 1 million hectares.
