Brazil remains a major supplier of soybeans to the EU, accounting for 75% of total deliveries. However, compared to the same indicator of the previous season, soybean imports from Brazil decreased slightly to 863 thousand tons. In addition, deliveries from the United States fell by 63% to 175,000 tons.

Since the beginning of the season, imports from Ukraine have risen by 62% to 115,000 tons and from Canada by 82% to 39,000 tons.

According to estimates by the European Commission in July, the Union could import up to 13.44 million tons of soybeans in the 2024/25 marketing year, which is 2% more than in the previous season.

Previously, the Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy had predicted a soybean harvest of 5 million tons for the 2024/25 marketing year, pointing out that this will be a record figure in Ukraine’s history. The area under bean cultivation will reach a record 2.63 million hectares this year.
