According to market participants, Egypt’s state food procurement agency GASC contracted 290,000 tons of wheat from three Black Sea countries, including Ukraine, in a tender on November 4.
In particular, 120,000 tons of Ukrainian grain (two batches of 60,000 tons each) were contracted by the market participant LDC at a price of USD 275.25 per ton C&F.
In addition, 120,000 tons of Romanian grain were contracted – 60,000 tons from Viterra at a price of USD 275.3 per ton C&F and 60,000 tons from Ollam at the same price.
These grain shipments are to be delivered to the importer between December 6 and 15 of this year.
Another 50,000 tons of wheat of Bulgarian origin were purchased from the company Buildcom at a price of USD 273 per ton C&F and are to be delivered from November 25 to December 5 this year.
According to the terms of the tender, payment for the contracted grain should be made within 270 days by letter of credit.
