In the Ukrainian grain season 2024/25, the export potential of wheat, corn and barley combined could fall sharply by up to 14.5 million tons per year, reports ASAP Agri.

Unfavourable weather conditions during sowing and periods of strong plant growth have led to expected production losses of 11.3 million tons in total in the 2024/25 marketing year. In addition, opening stocks in the 2024/25 marketing year were lower than last year.

For the new season, analysts expect the sharpest decline in maize exports in terms of volume by 8.6 million tons to 20.1 million tons. This could be the lowest exports in the last 8 seasons.

ASAP Agri expects wheat exports to fall by 5.5 million tons to 12.9 million tons in the 2024/25 marketing year, which could be the lowest level in the last 11 marketing years.

Barley exports could fall by 0.4 million tons year-on-year to 2.1 million tons, the lowest level in the last 13 seasons.
