According to the latest data from the Chinese customs authority, imports of corn in September amounted to 310 thousand tons, which is 81% less than in September 2023.
Imports of wheat this month amounted to 250 thousand tons (-60%), barley – 940 thousand tons (-9%), sorghum – 970 thousand tons (+108%).
In total, China has imported 12.8 million tons of corn since the beginning of 2024 (-23% compared to January-September 2023), wheat – 10.7 million tons (+6%), barley – 11.8 million tons (+63%) and sorghum – 6.8 million tons (+86%).
