International analysts estimate that sugar production is expected to increase in the new MY 2025/26 season in Central-South Brazil.
Datagro estimates that sugar mills in the new 2025/26 MY season in Central-South Brazil will process 612 million tons of sugarcane, 1.4% less than in the 2024/25 MY season. Meanwhile, sugar production is expected to increase to 42.35 million tons next season as a result of an increase in the share of cane destined for sugar production to 51%.
StoneX analysts estimate that sugar production in the new 2025/26 MY season in Brazil’s south-central region will increase by 4% to 41.7 million tons, while Hedgepoint forecasts an 8% increase to 43.3 million tons. In the new season, sugarcane processing volume is projected to be between 608 and 630 million tons, according to various estimates.
The 2025/26 MY sugarcane processing season in South Central Brazil officially begins on April 1.
