The Brazilian agricultural authority (CONAB) estimates the soybean harvest for the current season at 166.05 million tons, which is 12.7% more than last season.

It found that producers only made 2.8 % more acreage available for the beans than last year. Acreage increased to 47.33 million hectares, the lowest annual increase in six years due to lower world market prices last season. Conab expects a further slowdown in the increase in acreage.

However, the agency is forecasting growth due to improved yields, even if sowing is delayed in key states due to a lack of rainfall. Soybean exports in 2025 are estimated at 105.54 million tons. Ending stocks are estimated at 4.16 million tons.

Total grain and oilseed production is expected to reach a record 322.47 million tons in 2024/25, an increase of 8.3% compared to the previous season.
