U.S. resumes corn supplies to Russia

In January, for the first time in nearly three years, the United States resumed corn exports to Russia, as reported by RIA Novosti based on data from American statistical services.

At the start of the year, American businesses exported this grain to Russia for a total of $55.5 thousand. This marked the first shipment since March 2022, when Russia acquired the grain from the U.S. for $44.9 thousand.

As a significant corn exporter, the U.S. exported an impressive $1.5 billion worth of corn in January alone. Furthermore, the export value rose by 31 percent compared to the previous year.

At the beginning of the year, Mexico was the largest importer of U.S. corn, spending $408 million, followed by Japan with $324 million and South Korea with $162 million.
