The Australian Bureau of Statistics recently reported that the country exported 201.55 thousand tons of lentils in January, marking a 20% decrease compared to the previous month.
India was the main destination for these lentil exports, receiving 99.81 thousand tons. Additionally, shipments were made to Bangladesh (60.75 thousand tons) and Sri Lanka (21.85 thousand tons).
Looking ahead to February, it is anticipated that lentil export volumes will continue to decline, as nearly half of the lentil harvest from Australia – estimated at 1.16 million tons – was already exported between October and January.
