According to Xinhua, rice production in the country is projected to hit 13.95 million tons from January to April 2025, reflecting a 25.99% increase compared to the previous year. Indonesia’s statistical office anticipates that the rice yield during February to April 2025 will be 12.71 million tons.
Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, who leads Indonesia’s Central Statistical Office, noted that this anticipated volume would mark the highest output seen in seven years.
Additionally, in January 2025, the production of unmilled rice reached 2.16 million tons, which is a significant rise of 42.32% from 1.52 million tons in the same month of 2024.
Forecasts indicate that total unmilled rice production between January and April 2025 may reach 24.22 million tons.
Vidyasanthi pointed out that actual production figures could vary based on weather conditions.
