According to the latest data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics, in December 2024 canola exports amounted to 593.81 thousand tons, which is 16% lower than the result of the previous month (in November – 709.43 thousand tons), reports Grain Central.
The largest markets during the period were Belgium with 185,42 thousand tons, Germany with 125,23 thousand tons, France with 115,02 thousand tons, Pakistan with 63,79 thousand tons and Bangladesh with 28,97 thousand tons.
According to preliminary estimates of Lachstock Consulting, Australia could export 604 thousand tons of canola in January, while for February, 491 thousand tons are booked for shipment.
According to estimates of the International Grains Council (IGC), in 2025/26 the world area under canola cultivation will grow by 1.4% compared to the current season and will reach a record 44.1 million hectares.
