Linseeds and sunflowers are becoming more expensive again in Kazakhstan

Another increase in prices for flax and sunflower was recorded in Kazakhstan, according to the republican industry agencies. January 21 flax traded at an average of 213 thousand tenge $408/mt, sunflower – at $316/mt.

According to information from the research bureau “Grain and Oilseeds. Kazakhstan”, as of January 21, flax rose in price by $1.9 per week. Sunflower rose $7.7 per ton over the past seven days.

According to analysts, the market is reviving, but most traders have not yet activated the purchase of oilseeds. Only flax is mainly purchased in the northern regions.

Prices for other oilseeds were formed as follows:

  • Rapeseed – $399;
  • Safflower of new crop – $222;
  • Soybean – $356;
  • Black and white mustard of new crop – $412 per ton.
