In the period from January 1 to 10, Russia exported 480 thousand tons of major grain crops, which is three times lower than in the same period a year earlier (1.476 million tons), Interfax reports with reference to the monitoring data of the Russian Grain Union.
Elena Tyurina, director of the analytical department of the Russian Grain Union, specified that wheat shipments since the beginning of the year have decreased by almost 57%, to 468,000 tons, barley – by 93%, to 10,400 tons, corn – actually stopped.
“In the first decade, Russian wheat was shipped only to seven countries, a year ago there were 18. At the same time, the maximum volume was shipped to Kenya – 111 thousand tons, it is 6% more than a year ago. At the same time, exports to Egypt decreased by 54% to 83 thousand tons, only 4.8 thousand tons were shipped to Turkey,” – said the analyst.
E. Tyurina also added that the largest part of grain (197 thousand tons) was traditionally shipped through Novorossiysk.
“This is 67% more than a year earlier. 113 thousand tons were shipped through the port of Vysotsk. This is a new port, a year ago at this time there was no transshipment through it,” the expert said.
According to her data, road transshipment of Russian grain at the beginning of the year decreased by almost 65%, through Rostov-on-Don shipments fell by 69%, through Azov – by 84%. At the same time, shipments via Yeisk increased by 31%.
