In September, Russia significantly increased its deliveries of corn and millet to China: corn exports doubled compared to the previous month to 11.6 thousand tons, and millet exports increased 1.5-fold to a record 6.6 thousand tons, as RIA Novosti calculated, citing mutual trade data.
Deliveries also increased in monetary terms: corn doubled to 2.7 million dollars and millet increased 1.5 times to 2.7 million dollars.
In total, Russia exported grain worth 38.3 million dollars to China in September, reducing its deliveries by 16.5% compared to the previous month. The most important grain exports in early fall were barley (32.4% of deliveries), buckwheat and millet (28.1%) and wheat (22.7%).
At the beginning of the fall, China purchased 728.7 million dollars worth of grain abroad, with Russia taking seventh place in the ranking of exporters in terms of monetary delivery volume with 5.3% of purchases. The three leading countries were Australia (27.6 %), Argentina (14.5 %) and the United States (13.9 %).
