On October 15, the Egyptian state agency GASC held an international tender for the purchase of soybean and sunflower oil with immediate payment. Market analysts, citing European traders, reported that the tender resulted in the purchase of 50,000 tons of sunflower oil from Viterra at a price of USD 1185 (C&F), while no contract was signed for soybean oil.

The lowest offer for sunflower oil was USD 1229 (C&F). This price is $184/ton higher than the price GASC paid for sunflower oil at the preliminary tender on September 10.

The lowest bid for soybean oil was $1,145/ton, $75/ton higher than the lowest bid on September 10, when GASC did not purchase soybean oil.

Shipments of vegetable oils are scheduled for January 1-15.
