Russian farmers have threshed 78% of sown areas by September 23 and harvested 105.9 million tons of grain, including 77.7 million tons of wheat, reports field.rf, citing data from the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.
“Due to difficult weather conditions, work in the Urals, Siberia and the Volga region has been delayed,” the ministry said.
Currently, 10.6 million hectares of grain have yet to be harvested, 8 million hectares of which are in the Volga, Ural and Siberian Federal Districts.
The Ministry of Agriculture also stressed that the regions should provide the ministry with harvest estimates by the end of this week in order to adjust the forecast for grain production in 2024, which is still 132 million tons.
