The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation is sticking to its earlier forecast for grain exports in the current agricultural year (July 2023-June 2024) of 60 million tons. This was stated by Agriculture Minister Oksana Lut, reports Finmarket.
“We have decent carryover grain reserves, so with a harvest of 132 million tons, we can afford to export 60 million tons,” the minister said.
She did not provide any details on the ministry’s forecasts for Russian wheat exports in the 2024/25 marketing year.
It should be recalled that in the previous season Russia exported a record 72.2 million tons of grain, including 54.1 million tons of wheat. The gross grain harvest last year was estimated at 144.9 million tons, including 92.8 million tons of wheat.
