After a five-month break, Brazil resumed its wheat purchases from Russia in June this year, reports RIA Novosti, citing official data from Brazilian customs.

“Brazil had stopped its regular wheat purchases from Russia in December last year and took a break until June. Imports of Russian grain resumed in early summer – 187,200 tons worth 41.3 million dollars were imported,” the report says.

In July, imports increased to 241 thousand tons and reached a value of 56.2 million US dollars. The volume of shipments increased by 29% this month and 1.4 times over the year as a whole. At the same time, the volume of shipments in July was only 2% below the record level of September last year.
