On August 12, 2024, Egypt’s GASC will hold the largest tender in its history for the purchase of 3.8 million tons of wheat.
It looks like Egypt is trying to change the tender format – like Saudi Arabia – and take advantage of the seasonal drop in wheat prices.
The delivery period is 1-15 or 16-30 days of each month, starting in October 2024 until April 2025. The basis is FOB, the form of payment is letter of credit within 270 days.
In the last tender on July 16, 2024, Egypt purchased 770,000 tons of Bulgarian and Russian wheat at an average price of USD 241.07 per ton C&F.
