TASS (Russian: ТАСС) is a Russian state news agency headquartered in Moscow. It has existed under various names since 1904 and is now one of the largest news agencies in the country. From 1992 to 2014, the agency published under the name ITAR-TASS as the “central state news agency”. Text and image services are provided in many languages via a network of domestic and foreign offices. The agency is organized in the form of an FGUP, i.e. it is a state-owned enterprise.
