According to the US Department of Agriculture’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS), 91% of corn and 94% of soybean acres had been harvested by November 3. This puts the pace of harvest for these crops well above the average for the year, reports Grain Online.
Winter wheat was sown on 87% of the planned area by November 3 (89% at the same time on average over the last five years). Seedlings have emerged on 66% of the areas (71%).
The condition of the winter wheat crops has improved compared to last week, but is still worse than last year. At this time, 41 % of the crops were in good and excellent condition, while 36 % were in satisfactory condition. A year ago, the proportion of crops in good and excellent condition was 50% and 39% in satisfactory condition.
